2007: Petrova earned mention on the Big Sky Conference's All-Academic Team. She had a 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 win at No. 2 singles in a 4-2 loss to Air Force. Petrova and Amanda Mankovits teamed up for an 8-6 victory to help Eastern Washington to a 4-3 victory over Northern Colorado. She and Rachel Berger had an 8-6 win in EWU's 4-3 loss to Portland. Petrova got on the winning path in singles play with a 6-2, 6-3 victory in Eastern Washington's 7-0 defeat of Idaho State, the team's first 7-0 win over an NCAA Division I school since 2001. The highlight of her season came when she helped lead the Eagles to a 5-2 defeat of local rival Gonzaga. She and Kasey Knox had an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles and then Petrova provided the clinching fourth team point with a 6-3, 6-3 victory in singles action. Petrova finished fall play with 2-2 marks in both singles and doubles. In singles play, her wins came against Quincy Carter of Montana, 6-3, 6-0, at the Red Lion Invitational and Washington's Lauren Summers, 6-4, 2-6, (10-0), at the Duck Classic. Petrova, teamed with Mankovits, won her first two doubles matches of the season, both at the Red Lion Invitational.

2006: Petrova had the best showing of any Eagle in EWU's 7-0 loss to Big Sky Conference power Sacramento State, as she fell by just three points in a supertiebreaker at No. 6 to Irina Taranenko, 6-4, 2-6, (10-7). She had the only set win by an Eagle over the powerful Hornets. Petrova helped Eastern topple Gonzaga, 6-1, as she and Amanda Mankovits won the only doubles match to go Eastern's way, 8-3, at No. 2 and helped EWU sweep all six singles matches with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the fourth position. After moving up to No. 1 in doubles and falling in the rematch against the Bulldogs, she won her No. 3 singles match, 6-2, 6-2, to help Eastern earn the season sweep of GU, 5-2. She played well in Eastern Washington's 4-3 loss to Northern Arizona, earning a doubles win, 8-3, and a singles victory in the fourth position, 6-0, 6-1. Petrova went 2-2 at the Washington State Cougar Classic, beating Montana's Cheyne Ursich, 5-7, 7-5, 4-1 (ret.).
