Eagles Hold Tough with Air Force, Fall 4-2

The Even though the AFA won all three doubles matches, Eastern's Nos. 1 and 3 teams did not go down quietly, finally succumbing by 8-6 scores. In singles play, the Eagles held their own, as the Eagles won two contests, lost two in three sets each and fell in another which may have only gone two sets, but each stanza was decided in tiebreakers. At No. 1, Eastern's Kasey Knox took Air Force's top singles player, Christine Abayan, to a deciding set before falling, 6-2, 4-6, 6-0. Eagle players took wins at courts two and three. Iliana Petrova claimed a 7-6, 7-5 win over Lauren Wilson at No. 2, while Kerstyn Dolack won, 6-0, 7-6 (8-6), versus Karissa Walker on the third court. Another three-set contest was seen on court four, as Rachel Berger lost to her Air Force counterpart, 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 6-2. Marie Demerath at court six rounded out singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Kelly Morgan.
