Eagle Women's Tennis Plays Well at Home Tournament

The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team opened up play at the EWU/Gonzaga Classic on Friday (Sept. 28). The tournament is playing played on the EWU campus in Cheney.

Five Eagle singles players earned victories on day one, Amanda Mankovits, Kerstyn Dolack, Kasey Knox, Sarah Leuenberger and Rachel Berger. Advancing in doubles play were the teams of Knox and Mankovits as well as Berger and Dolack.

"We had a very successful first day of the tournament, and hopefully we can carry this momentum into Saturday's matches," assistant coach Bryce Cooper.

Play will continue on Saturday (Sept. 29) with doubles slated to begin at 9 a.m.
