She was Big Sky All-Academic in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field. 2005-06: She was 42nd (20:11.40) at the Big Sky Cross Country Championships and 141st (23:25.00) at the NCAA West Regionals. Garruto had a career-best 3,000 (10:29.39, which ranks her fifth on Eastern's all-time best list), and she went on to finish 16th at the BSC Indoor Championships in the 5,000 (20:52.32).
