2009: Named to the Big Sky All-Academic team. Was the only true freshman to see action during the 2009 campaign, as she played in 24 of the Eagles’ 29 matches. Tallied a career-high six kills and three blocks on three separate occasions. Registered a career-high six digs against Nevada (Sept. 4). Received the Volleyball Emtman Award during the spring season, which is an honor administered by Eastern’s head strength and conditioning coach and recognizes strong work ethic, perseverance, character and team-first attitude.
High School: After helping lead her high squad to its first-ever state title as a junior, Puckett was named the Associated Press Most Valuable Player at the 1B level for the state of Washington. She was also named the MVP of the Whitman County League that year. Puckett then helped the team to a third-place showing at the 2B level her senior year, earning 2B state MVP accolades following the season. Her sophomore year saw the Nighthawks place third in the 1B tournament. She was also a member of a Spokane Splash team that placed 19th at the Junior Olympics this summer. As a basketball player, Puckett helped the 2006-07 squad to sixth place at the 1B state tournament and earned All-Whitman County League honors that year as well as the previous season. She also played softball and attained All-State honorable mention accolades in that sport as a sophomore. She is the daughter of Scott and Joy Puckett and plans to major in visual communications.
