Eastern Among Top Three Academically in Big Sky
Eastern Washington University’s athletic programs posted the third-highest grade point average in the Big Sky Conference for the 2010-11 academic year. Eastern’s 14 teams combined for a cumulative GPA of 3.21 to finish third behind Weber State and the league’s top academic team, Montana State.

Eagle Volleyball Announces 2011 Schedule
Not since 2004 has the Eastern Washington University women’s volleyball had the privilege of playing at Reese Court before the start of the Big Sky Conference season. Well, that drought will end in the upcoming 2011 campaign. Head coach Miles Kydd has released his 2011 lineup, and it includes a game in Cheney against Boise State on Aug. 31.

Spring Season Underway for EWU Volleyball
The Eastern Washington University volleyball team has officially begun its preparations for next season. A total of 50 Eastern Washington University student-athletes have been honored on the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for fall quarter 2010. Of the total, 18 were from football, 11 from volleyball, 10 from women's soccer, eight from women's cross country and three from men's cross country.

Eagles Close Out Season with Convincing Win Over Sac State
The Eastern Washington University volleyball team sent its four seniors off in the best possible way on Saturday (Nov. 20) at Reese Court, as the team swept Sacramento State, 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25, 17) in the final game of the 2010 season. EWU will finish the year with an 8-19 overall record and a 7-9 mark in league play. The Eagles were knocked out of Big Sky tournament contention last weekend after a 3-2 loss to Northern Arizona, but will finish sixth overall in the final BSC standings.

Same Story, Superior Result – Eagles Rally to Beat Montana in Five
Revenge was sweet for the Eastern Washington University volleyball team, as it rallied from two sets down to beat the Grizzlies of Montana in five thrilling sets (24-26, 24-26, 25-22, 25-18, 15-10) in Cheney, Wash. The first time these two squads met in the 2010 season, Montana was the team to survive the marathon match, but on Saturday at Reese Court, Eastern proved its determination and desire with a season-high 73 kills and 108 digs.

The Eastern Washington University volleyball team made quick work of its opponent on Friday (Oct. 29) at Reese Court, as the Eagles swept the visiting Montana State Bobcats, 3-0 (25-23. 25-22, 25-20). The Eagles avenged their loss to the Bobcats from earlier in the season and are now sixth in the conference standings with 5-6 record. Montana State is now eighth in the Big Sky with a 3-7 league mark and 10-13 season record.

Eagles Nab First Conference Road Win with 3-1 Victory over Bengals
The Eastern Washington University volleyball team excelled on both the offensive and defensive ends of the ball on Friday (Oct. 23) in Pocatello, Idaho, as it recorded a season-high 16.5 blocks and 59 kills en route to a 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-16, 25-21) victory over the Bengals of Idaho State. For the second year in a row, Eastern swept the regular-season series with ISU, while the victory at Reed Gym also marked the first road win for the EWU in this 2010 Big Sky season.

The Eastern Washington volleyball program is pleased to announce the signing of Esther Warren, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter from Fort Worth, Texas. Warren, who graduated from Richland High School in May, joins four others as part of the talented 2010 recruiting class.

Puckett Recognized With Volleyball Emtman Award
Freshman Shelby Puckett of the Eastern Washington University volleyball team was recently selected as the recipient of the 2010 Emtman award. This honor, administered by EWU head strength and conditioning coach Jeff Carroll, recognizes one volleyball student-athlete who exhibits strong work ethic, perseverance, character and a team-first attitude.

Eastern Volleyball Signs JC Middle Blocker
Chenoa Rossi-Childress, a 6-foot-1 middle blocker from Feather River College, has signed a letter of intent to attend Eastern Washington University next fall and play volleyball for head coach Miles Kydd.
