Cheney, Wash. - Eastern Washington Women's Volleyball head coach Wade Benson announced the signing of Taylor Larsen to a National Letter of Intent Thursday, June 19.
Larsen (Colfax, Wash./Colfax HS) becomes the 10th new face to join the Eagles' volleyball program in time their 2014 campaign.
"Taylor is a great addition to our 2014 roster," Benson said. "At 6-1, she brings height but also has the ability to play all three positions. Coming from Colfax, Taylor is another in a long line of players from this volleyball powerhouse to play at Eastern."
A 2014 graduate of Colfax High School, Larsen earned four letters in volleyball for the Bulldogs, leading her team to a state title and 36-1 record as a senior in 2013. She played key roles in Colfax's runner-up finishes at the state tournament in 2011 and 2012 and contributed to the Bulldogs' third-place showing in 2010.
An all-state and all-league recipient, Larsen finished her high school career with 995 kills and 270 blocks as a middle blocker, setting a school record with 159 aces as a senior.
Larsen played club volleyball for College Preparatory Academy, a local volleyball club.
The daughter of Nathan Larsen and Rob and Jennifer Hauser, she intends to major in accounting with the goal of becoming an accountant. She chose Eastern for its accounting program as well as the small town atmosphere and the chance to play volleyball at a high level.
Eastern's season gets underway with its annual alumni match, set for Sunday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m.
