Walker, a veteran of EWU volleyball, enters his seventh yearwith the program. He served as a volunteer assistant for twoseasons before being named an assistant coach in 2008.
Over the past six seasons, Walker has been involved with nearlyevery aspect of the program. He specializes in training and in-gamecoaching of the defensive specialists, and is also directlyinvolved with the scouting and recruiting efforts of the team.
With his help, EWU was one of the best digging teams in the BigSky last season, averaging 16.57 per set, which also ranked in thetop 60 nationally. Walker protégé Lindsey Petroni setthe school record for the most 30-dig matches in a career withseven, while her career average of 3.56 digs per set ranks fourthall-time at EWU.
Along with his duties as assistant coach at Eastern, Walker hasserved as head coach with various teams of the Spokane SplashVolleyball Club since 2006.
From 2002-03, he was a head coach with the Timberlake VolleyballClub, based in Spirit Lake, Idaho. Prior to that, Walker was avolunteer assistant coach for the Gonzaga Prep freshman team.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communication fromGonzaga University in 2002.
Fiancée Anna Goodale is a former member of the USA Rowingteam. She is a five-time World Champion and won a Gold Medal in theWomen’s 8+ at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Walker andGoodale are expecting their first child in November, but arepracticing parenting now with their Ecuadorian-born, Akita/Shepardmix puppy named Quena.
