Eastern Washington University Athletics

Bridgette Underwood joined Eastern Washington University in July 2024 as the Director of Athletic Communications. In this role, she oversees communications for Men’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball, and Men’s and Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country.

With experience at the Power 5 level, Underwood most recently served as the Assistant Director of External Communications and Public Relations at the University of Michigan. There, she worked with Volleyball, Water Polo, and Swim and Dive programs. Prior to that, Underwood was a Communications Assistant at the University of Florida, where she managed communications for the nationally ranked Swim and Dive teams and served as the primary statistician for Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Volleyball.

A familiar face at EWU, Underwood is an alumna of the university, having earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Interdisciplinary Studies with minors in Leadership and Journalism. During her time at EWU, she was a four-year letter winner in Track and Field as a javelin thrower and a student worker in the athletic department.

After graduation, she went on to earn a Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Eastern Illinois University, where she also served as a graduate assistant in the athletic communications department.
