A high-scoring guard for EWU’s resurgent men’s basketball program in the late 1980’s, Peed was a first team All-Big Sky Conference selection as a senior in 1990. His 626 points and 20.87 average in his junior season in 1989 both stood as school records for 17 seasons. They now rank ninth and seventh, respectively, through the 2023-24 campaign. His 246 field goals and 500 attempts were also records at the time (now both fifth).

Peed’s career average of 18.32 points per game still ranks No. 3 in school history through the 2023-24 season after ranking as a record for 17 seasons (No. 1 is Rodney Stuckey, ’06-07, 24.37; No. 2 is Tyler Harvey, 2013-15, 18.62). Peed finished with 1,154 total points in his two seasons as an Eagle to rank eighth at the time (16th through 2023-24). He scored 44 points against UC Irvine on Dec. 13, 1988, to set a school record that lasted more than 17 seasons before it was broken by Rodney Stuckey with 45 on Jan. 1, 2006 (Peed’s 44 points currently ranks fifth through the 2023-24 season). Peed averaged 17.2 points and 6.1 rebounds as a senior in the 1989-90 season. Eastern finished 18-11 for the school's best season percentage-wise (.621) in EWU’s first 28 seasons as a member of the Big Sky Conference. The school's 11-5 conference mark represented Eastern’s best league record in the first 12 years as a member of the Big Sky. Eastern’s triumphs included runner-up finishes in the Big Sky in the regular season and post-season tournament. Eastern improved by 10 victories from its 8-22 finish from the year before, representing the second-best turnaround in all of NCAA Division I basketball. Four times EWU set the single game attendance record, including a Reese Court record that still stands of 5,621 versus Idaho on March 1, 1990.

Peed played just two seasons at Eastern (he also had an injury redshirt season in 1988 at EWU) after transferring from Skyline Junior College in California. His Eagle teammate, Ronn McMahon, was inducted into the Eastern Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017. After leaving EWU, Peed played a season in England for the Thames Valley Tigers where he averaged nearly 28 points per game. He is from San Francisco, Calif., and graduated from Riordan High School in 1985. Peed’s children include his daughters Skai and Summer Peed, and his late son Terrance. His step-children are Jillian, Spencer and the late Zachary Frise, along with two grandchildren, Makai and the late Wyatt. He has been married for 13 years to Charlene Marchand Peed and now lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
