Eagles set for Spring schedule to start

Eastern hosts two matches on in April

CHENEY, Wash. — Eastern Washington volleyball returns to the courts for its 2024 spring schedule, starting next week. Eastern has five matches on the schedule, with two at home. 

The Eagles home schedule starts on April 20, hosting Washington State.

The following week, Eastern will play its second home match against Eastern Oregon at 1:30 p.m.

The spring schedule begins on April 6 as the Eagles play two matches in Ellensburg. EWU opens against Central Washington at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time, followed by a 2:45 p.m. match against Alaska-Anchorage. 

On April 13, Eastern faces off against Gonzaga in Spokane at 12 p.m. 

In the 2023 season, EWU finished 13-17 overall, going 6-10 in the Big Sky. The Eagles advanced to the Big Sky Tournament semifinals, as the No. 7 seed, after upsetting No. 2 seed Northern Colorado (3-2) in Greeley. Eastern faced No. 3 Montana State in the semifinals, bowing out of the tournament, 1-3, against the Bobcats. 

Senior Sage Brustad and junior Bri Gunderson earned All-Big Sky second team selections in the fall.
