Turning Point
Both Eastern and Northern Colorado came out attacking right out of the gate, and it was clear that both teams were ready to give whatever it took in order to find the victory. The first half was back and forth as the Eagles and Bears battled for possession and any scoring chances they could muster.
After a scoreless 36 minutes of play, a shot from UNC's Juliana Grover happened to sail just barely out of the reach of senior goalkeeper Nathalie Schwery and into the net, giving the Bears the first strike.
The second half opened with the Eagles determined to equalize, firing off a total of nine shots in the 45 minute duration. EWU forced the Bear's goalkeeper to make a total of three notable stops between the posts. However, despite Eastern's valiant second half push, the game would close at a final score of 1-0.

Freshman Chloe Williams was able to take a majority of EWU's shots with a total of seven, a season high for both her and the team.
Aside from Williams, seven other Eagle players registered shots on the day. Freshman M'Kenna Hayes led the pack with two shots of her own.

Quoting Coach Bodnar
"We didn't come out and play well in the first half, but we had three or four quality chances, that we usually finish, but for some reason we didn't today. We played a lot better in the second half and had a bunch of the ball, while looking to get in a little bit, but credit to their backline. They were organized and looked well. The came in looking like a team who had to win today, or they were going to be down. Now we have to battle and bounce back, like we have all year."
