BEAVERTON, Ore. - The Eastern Washington University men's tennis team continued Big Sky Conference play at Portland State today and fell short 4-3 in Beaverton, Ore. The Eagles took the doubles point and two singles wins in Steven Paz and Drew Dillon.
Eastern Washington sits 2-9 overall and 0-5 in conference play while Portland State improves to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
"We played well and fought hard today. We had two great wins today in doubles play and a good performance for both Steven Paz and Drew Dillon in singles play," said head coach Jared Burnham. "We need to be more consistent with our play moving forward."
The Eagles defeated the Vikings in doubles play with the pairs of Erik Sarlvik and Manuel Balce at No. 1 doubles and Brady Thomas and Dillon at No. 3, both collecting a 6-3 victory. Paz and Dillon picked up two singles points at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions.
