SEATTLE, Wash. — Eastern Washington men's tennis was on the court for its first competition of the 2023 Fall schedule, competing at the ITA Regionals, hosted by the University of Washington. The Eagles began play on Thursday (Oct. 5) and finished on Saturday (Oct. 7).
Eastern picked up three wins in singles during the round of 64. Caden Kammerer advanced with a 7(7)-6(5), 6-0 win over Jayden Harrison from Seattle U.
Tyler Waddock cruised to a two-set win over Hayden Elliott (6-2, 6-1). The sophomore fell in the round of 32, competing well against Seattle's Filip Stipic in three sets (4-6, 7(7)-6(5), 3-6).
Tyler Dalos defeated another Redhawk, Michael Frank, in a long, three-set battle(7(7)-6(5), 6(5)-7(7), 6-4).
In doubles, Kammerer and Dalos advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Portland's Fabian Gusic and Tannor Binder (8-2).
Up Next
The Eagles will be off next weekend, but return to the court on Oct. 20 for the General Patton Invite, hosted by Boise State. The tournament runs through Oct. 22.
