CHENEY, Wash. — With the fall quarter over and the winter starting, Eastern Washington athletics is maintaining a high-level of performance in the classroom. The "Streak" was extended after the department's 318 student-athletes posted a combined GPA of 3.5 for the 2025 fall quarter, the 55th consecutive quarter with a GPA above 3.0.
The "Streak" began in the fall quarter of 2007 and has been carried on by Eastern student-athletes for 19 years.
All 12 of Eastern's athletic programs earned a team GPA above 3.0.
"I'm incredibly proud of our Eagle student-athletes for maintaining a 3.0 GPA for the 55th consecutive quarter. Their strong performance during the fall quarter reflects the high academic standards embraced across our athletic department," said Director of Athletics Tim Collins, " As intercollegiate athletics continues to evolve, this achievement underscores the dedication of our coaches and staff to supporting the academic success and holistic development of our student-athletes."
Women's tennis led all programs with a 3.85 GPA and four 4.0 GPAs on the roster. Returning to the Division I ranks, men's golf posted a 3.76 GPA and two 4.0s.
Overall, 53 Eagles earned 4.0 GPAs for the fall quarter.
Staying consistent, EWU's student-athletes have a cumulative GPA of 3.52 going into the winter quarter.
