2020-21 Track & Field: Outdoor: Named to the Big Sky All-Academic team. Did not compete.

2019-2020 Track and Field: Indoor: Named to the Big Sky All-Academic team. He placed ninth in the high jump at the Big Sky Conference Championships in Pocatello, Idaho, with a mark of 6-2 1/4.

2018-2019 Track & Field: Outdoor: Named to the Big Sky All-Academic team. McGinnis won the high jump at the Pelluer Open with a height of 6-5. He had second-place finishes in the high jump at the WAR 12 with a height of 6-2 3/4, and at the Al Manuel Northwest Challenge with a height of 6-4 3/4. McGinnis also won the high jump at the 2019 Buc Scoring Meet with a jump of 6-5, a personal best at the time.
Indoor: His career best high jump mark of 6-9 1/2 came when he took first place at the Candy Cane XI to open the season. He went on to clear at least 6-6 on four occasions, including 6-7 at the MSU Dual Invite #2. He closed the season by placing sixth at the Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships with a clearance of 6-6 1/4.

Marquette: During the indoor season, McGinnis finished third in the High jump with a mark of 6-4 3/4, a new personal best. During the outdoor season McGinnis placed fourth in the high jump with a new personal best of 6-5 1/2 at the Big East Track & Field Championships.

High School: Competing his senior year, McGinnis placed fifth in the javelin with a new personal-best height of 138-1 at the River City Relays. McGinnis won the high jump at the Ray Cockrum Relays with a new personal best of 6-8.

Personal: Majoring in health & fitness education.
