Biography

2010-11 Track and Field:Indoor: Barton ran the mile in 4:21.65 for a third-placefinish at the Jackson’s Invitational. At the Big SkyConference Championships, he finished 16th in the 5,000 with a timeof 16:39.50. He was also chosen for the Big Sky ConferenceAll-Academic team.

2010 Cross Country: Bartonstarted off strong, placing 11th in the Clash of the InlandNorthwest with a time of 26:25.15. At the Big Sky ConferenceChampionships he placed 31st with a time of 23:42.02. Barton wasalso named to the Fall Big Sky Conference All-Academic team.

2009-10 Track:Indoor: Barton broke into two all-time best lists in the5,000 (15:17.46) and the 3,000 (8:25.84). He was also named to theWinter Big Sky Conference All-Academic team. Outdoors:Barton excelled in the 3,000 steeplechase, recording a season-besttime of 9:28.58 at the Oregon Relays. He also competed in the 5,000(15:11.65) and the 1,500 (4:00.26). Barton was selected to theSpring Big Sky Conference All-Academic team.

2009 Cross Country: Bartonfinished 41st out of 65 names at the 2009 Big Sky Cross CountryConference Championships in Greely, Colo., where he ran a time of28:03.01 to help the Eagle men clinch a fifth-place finish. Bartoncompeted in the NCAA West Regional Championships in Eugene, Ore.,where he finished 154th (34:34.17). Barton was named to the Big SkyConference All-Academic team.
