2012-13 Track and Field:Indoor: Thor placed seventh in the 800 at the BSC IndoorChampionships, running a time of 1:56.21. He ran his personal bestof 1:53.76 in the prelims, placing second in his heat. He also ranhis personal-best time of 4:14.97 in the mile at the UW HuskyClassic, placing second in his heat and 59th overall. His seasonbest in the 3,000 was 8:47.31, which came at the UW Indoor Preview.Thor was selected to the winter Big Sky All-Academic team.Outdoor: Redshirted.
2012 Cross Country: Thor had astellar freshman season for the Eagles, placing in the top 25 infive meets and being the top runner for Eastern in every meet. Hewas 25th at the Big Sky Championships with a time of 26:35.5. Atthe Sundodger Invitational, Thor placed 19th with a time of24:55.74, his best time of the season. He was also 22nd at theClash of the Inland Northwest (19:23.9 6,000), eighth at theMontana Invitational (26:15.5) and 20th at the Inland EmpireClassic (25:35). He competed at the NCAA West Regionals, finishing83rd with a time of 31:13 (10,000).
High School: Thor dominatedthe 5A KSHSAA State Championships in Kansas in both cross countryand track, winning state titles twice in cross country and fivetimes in track. His two state wins in cross country came during hisjunior and senior seasons, covering the 5,000 meter course in16:03.3 his senior year and 16:15.9 his junior year. In his senioryear of track at the 5A Kansas State Championships, Thor ran thedistance trifecta in incredible fashion, winning the 800 (1:56.64),1,600 (4:15.43) and 3,200 (9:25.36). His times from the 1,600 andthe 3,200 at that meet were both personal-bests. During his juniorseason, he won both the 1,600 and 3,200 at the state meet andplaced second in the 800. He was also second in the 800 and thirdin the 1,600 at state his sophomore year. Thor’s otherbest times were in the 800 (1:55.37) and XC 5,000 (15:40.40).
