Biography

2010-11: As a junior, Simikic went 9-13 in singles and 7-9 in doubles. He was the only Eagle to win back-to-back matches against Montana State and Montana, and he did so in straight sets over MSU’s Diego Campos Contreras and UM’s Andrew Warren. Simikic also garnered wins against Northern Colorado and Portland State. Simikic played 12 of 16 doubles matches in the No. 1 spot with partner Kyle Koetje. The duo won five of its first seven matches together, including Big Sky victories over Northern Colorado, Idaho State and Montana. They finished the season with a 6-9 overall record.

2009-10: Posted an overall singles record of 6-13 in his first year with the Eagles. Also played doubles, recording four wins and four losses. Beat Ryan Lane of Northern Colorado (6-3, 6-3), and the following day, topped Idaho’s No. 2 player Artern Kuznetsov (7-6, 6-4). Took one set (6-3) from Brian Brogan of Santa Clara – a team ranked 43rd in the nation at the time. Won his final two doubles matches of the season while playing with Kyle Koetje.

At Boise State (2007-09): Utilized redshirt season in 2007-08, and then saw limited action in 2008-09. Posted a 1-2 singles record and 2-2 mark in doubles while playing with the nationally-ranked Broncos.

Personal: Born in Tuzla, Bosnia. Son of Slobodan and Sanja Simikic. Majoring in interdisciplinary liberal arts.
