2020-21 Track & Field: Outdoor: Advanced to the NCAA Preliminary Round where he competed in the hammer (194-5) to finish 39th overall. Kautz competed in the Big Sky Conference Championships where he had a personal record in the hammer (204-8) to finish fourth and score five points for the team. This performance also moved him to No. 3 on Eastern’s all-time top-10 list. He also competed in the discus and threw 143-11 to finish 15th at the championships.

2019-2020 Track and Field: Indoor: He picked up three team points with a sixth-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 59-8 1/2 at the Big Sky Conference Championships in Pocatello, Idaho.

2018-2019 Track & Field: Outdoor: Kautz won the discus throw at the Al Manuel Northwest Challenge with a new personal best of 168-0, and placed second in the hammer throw with a personal best of 176-4.
Indoor: At the Big Sky Track & Field Championships, Kautz placed fifth in the weight throw with a personal best of 61-7 3/4 to rank sixth in EWU history. He placed third in the weight throw with a distance of 53-7 3/4 at the D1 Invitational Team Challenge.

2017-2018 Track and Field: Outdoor: Set personal bests in both the hammer with a throw of 159-0 placing seventh, and the javelin with a throw of 163-10 placing ninth at the Al Manuel Northwest Dual. He placed 12th in the shot, 13th in the discus and 18th in the hammer at the OSU High Performance Meet. Set a personal best in both the shot with a throw of 47-1 3/4 and in the discus with a throw of 162-5 placing fourth at the Tom Gage Classic. At the Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships he placed 11th in the discus and 19th in the shot. Indoor: Set a personal best in the weight throw with a throw of 49-3 placing fifth at the Vandal Indoor Invitational. At the Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships he placed 19th in the shot and 26th in the weight throw. His shot put of 45-4 1/4 at the meet was his personal best.

High School: As a senior at Nooksack in 2017, Kautz was fourth in discus at the State 1A Championships at EWU’s Roos Field with a mark of 152-1, and was 10th in the shot put with a mark of 47-7 His personal best in discus was 170-10 during the 1A District 1 Finals, which broke his school record. During his junior year, Kautz placed seventh in shot put and fifth in discus at the State 1A Championships. He had also placed fifth in the state during his sophomore season. He also had bests in high school in the 100 meters (12.19), shot put (51-10), and javelin (158-7).

Personal: Majoring in business and finance. Son of Andy Kautz and Kari Maarhuis.
