2017-2018 Track and Field: Outdoor: At the Beach Pacific Coast Intercollegiate he placed first in the 100. At the OSU High Performance Meet he placed first in the 100 and was a part of the 4x100 team that placed first. At the Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships he set a personal best in the 200 with a time of 21.17 placing fourth he also placed second in the 100 and was a part of the 4x100 team that placed first. He placed 22nd in the 100 at the NCAA West Preliminary Round. Indoor: He placed third in the 60 with a time of 6.88 at the Husky Classic.
2016-17 Track and Field: Outdoor: Was a part of the 4x100 relay team that took seventh at the Big Sky Championships with a time of 41.86. Also took first in the 100-meter dash at the Buc Scoring Meet, 45th Pelluer Invitational and Spokane Memorial Series. Indoor: Redshirt.
2015-16 Track and Field: Outdoor: Big Sky Outdoor Champion in the 100-meter dash, setting a personal best of 10.48 in the preliminary round. Placed eighth in the 200-meter at the Outdoor Championship. Competed in the NCAA Division I West Preliminary in the 100-meter. Set a 200-meter personal best of 21.65 at the Stanford Invitational. Indoor: Big Sky Indoor Champion in the 60-meter dash with a personal best time of 6.77.
2014-15 Track and Field: Outdoor: Competed in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 4x100 relay at the Big Sky Outdoor Championship. Placed fourth in the 100-meter at the Championship and sixth in the 200-meter. Competed in the NCAA Division I West Preliminary in the 100-meter. Placed first in 100 and 200 meter events seven times. Indoor: Competed in both the 60 and 200 meter dashes at the Big Sky Indoor Championship, placing fifth in the 60-meter with a time of 6.94. Placed first in the 55-meter dash at the EWU Candy Cane, and first in the 200-meter at the WSU Indoor.
High School: VanAssche is a solid sprinter and made it to the podium at the WIAA 4A State Championships placing second in both the 100 and 200 meters. His 4x100-meter relay won a state championship his senior year. In prior seasons, VanAssche competed well at district and regional meets in both of those events. He has best marks of 10.53 in the 100 meters and 21.53 in the 200 meters. VanAssche was also a member of the football and wrestling teams for three years.
