2020-21 Track & Field: Outdoor: The freshman advanced as far as the Big Sky Conference Championships where he competed in the 400-meter hurdles and set a personal best of 54.34 in the preliminary round. Cherrington also ran the 110-meter hurdles and was the No. 2 short-hurdler for EWU during the season, running a best of 15.37 at the OSU High Performance Meet.
High School: Graduated from Lakeside HS in 2020. He starred for the Lakeside Eagles at the WIAA State 1A Championships at EWU’s Roos Field, winning the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles with personal-best times in 2019. He also ran a leg on the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams in helping Lakeside to the team title. His time in the high hurdles of 14.70 was his high school best, then added another PR with a time of 38.92 in the 300 hurdles. Both times, as well as a 43.08 time by the 4x100 relay team, were school records. His 304 total individual points scored during the 2019 season was also a school record.  As a sophomore in 2018, he placed third in both the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles, and ran a leg on the winning 4x100 relay squad. Lakeside finished as the runner-up in 1A that season. He was coached in high school by Jim Pettit and was twice selected as team captain. Lettered a total of four times in track and field and twice in cross country, and earned a variety of academic honors in high school. He also competed at the 2020 Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho, placing sixth in his division in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.27.

Personal: Interested in majoring in criminal justice at EWU. Born 6/18/01 in Orem, Utah. Parents are Chris and Jade Cherrington. Is a first-generation college student from his family.
