2020-21 Track & Field: Outdoor: Advanced to the Big Sky Conference Championships where he competed in the decathlon, scoring the highest for the Eagles with four points and placing 5th overall with a personal record of 6,142 points. He had five personal records in the competition, in the 100 meters (11:01), 110-meter hurdles (15.48), long jump (23-5 1/2), shot put (36-3 1/2), and the javelin (136-5). Porterfield also had a PR prior to the championships at the Whitworth Twilight where he had a mark of 6-0 1/2 in the high jump.
2019-2020 Track & Field: Indoor: He placed 10th in the heptathlon with 4,655 points at the Big Sky Conference Championships in Pocatello, Idaho. He had a time of 21.82 in the 200 meters at the Boise State Challenge to rank sixth all-time at EWU, and his time of 8.53 in the 60-meter hurdles is eighth. He had a total of 4,725 points in the pentathlon at UW Invitational to rank eighth all-time at EWU. His career-best mark of 22-5 1/4 in the long jump placed third at the Idaho Team Challenge. At the Idaho Open, he set his career best mark in the high jump of 5-11 1/4.
2018-2019 Track & Field: Outdoor: Porterfield participated in the long jump at the Big Sky Track & Field Championships and placed eighth with a personal-best distance of 23-3/4. At the Al Manuel Northwest Challenge, Porterfield competed in the 200 meters and placed second with a new personal best of 22.11. He competed in the 110-meter hurdles at the 2019 Buc Scoring Meet and placed third with a new best time of 15.79. During the same event, Porterfield competed in the triple jump and placed third with a new personal-best distance of 43-11 ¼.
Indoor: Porterfield competed in the heptathlon at the Big Sky Track & Field Championships and finished ninth with a score of 4,612, a new personal best. He placed fifth in the 60-meter race at the D1 Invitational Team Challenge with a new personal best of 7.06.
2017-2018 Track & Field: Outdoor: Set a personal best in the 200 with a time of 22.83 placing third at the Sam Adams Classic. At the Big Sky Outdoor Track and Field Championships he set a personal best in the decathlon with a score of 6,038 placing eighth. Indoor: At the Vandal Indoor Invitational he placed sixth in the heptathlon. Set a personal best in the UW Invitational he set a personal best in the heptathlon with a score of 4,280 placing 12th. At the Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships he placed 15th in the heptathlon.
High School: During his senior year, Porterfield finished ninth in the 200 meters at the State 4A Championships where he ran a personal-best time of 22.00. Porterfield also had a time of 11.10 in the prelims of the 100 meters at the State 4A Championships, and was a part of the 4x400 relay which placed third. He also had bests in high school in the 100 (11.01), 400 (52.44) and triple jump (44-0).
Personal: Majoring in mechanical engineering and pursuing an M.B.A. Son of Brent and Erica Porterfield.
