Biography
High School: Graduated from South Pasadena HS in 2021. He closed his high school career by placing ninth in the triple jump at the unofficial California State Championships with a leap of 44-0 1/2 in the finals after a personal record of 44-10 1/4 in the prelims. Although the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), cancelled its overall state championships, PrepCalTrack and VS Athletics privately organized this USATF sanctioned meet. Earlier that season, he won the Rio Hondo League championship in the triple jump (44-0) and advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Championships where he placed fourth (44-5). He was second in the league in the long jump (a personal best 20-2). He helped lead his team to the CIFSS Division 3 title, as well as a league championship. As a sophomore in 2019, Sweetman was third in the league in the triple jump (37-8) and ran a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team (3:50.82). Also played football and earned All-State accolades, and as a junior in 2019 he led all state of California high schools in interceptions with 13. He earned first team All-Rio Hondo League honors on defense and second team accolades as a wide receiver. Competed three years in football, two seasons in track and field and one in soccer while in high school.
