Southern Oregon University: Brenton competed for Southern Oregon during the 2013-14 school year where he gained experience competing at three meets. During the outdoor track season he ran both the 1,500 meters and the 5,000 meters, placing sixth both times. In his cross country debut with SOU he placed an impressive 12th at the Humboldt Invite.

Community Colleges of Spokane: In his two seasons competing for the Community Colleges of Spokane, Brenton turned in several impressive performances during both the track and cross country seasons. His XC career with CCS was highlighted by a 28th-place finish at the 2012 NWAACC Championships.

High School: Brenton is a 2011 graduate of Cheney High School in Cheney, Wash. He competed in track and cross country and was a varsity letterwinner in both sports his junior and senior years. He competed at the WIAA 2A XC State Championship, placing 93rd his junior year. As a senior he improved greatly on his placing, shaving nearly a minute off his time and jumping up to 63rd place. In his senior track season, Brenton qualified for the WIAA 2A State Championships in the 1600 meters, placing sixth.  

Personal: Health and fitness education major, with aspirations of teaching and coaching. Born 10/9/92 in Soldotna, Alaska. His parents are Steven and Angela Brenton.
