2013-14 Track and Field: Indoor: Penaloza ran a personal-best 10:07.83 in the 3,000 at the UW Husky Classic to rank sixth all-time at Eastern. At the UW Invitational, she ran another personal-best of 17:30.04 in the 5,000 meters to place 20th overall and rank fourth all-time at Eastern. At the Big Sky Conference Championships in Pocatello, Idaho, she placed fifth in the 5,000 with a time of 17:54. She also placed 17th in the 3,000 (10:32.64). Outdoor: She placed seventh overall in the 10k at the San Francisco Distance Carnival, clocking a time of 36:43.57 to rank sixth all-time at Eastern. At the Mt. Sac relays, she placed ninth in the 5k with a time of 17:05.71, ranking her seventh all-time at Eastern. At the Big Sky Championships in Flagstaff, Ariz., she placed 12th in the 10,000 (40:11) and 14th in the 5,000 (19:26.42).
2013 Cross Country: Penaloza was Eastern’s top finisher at the Big Sky Championships in Bozeman, Mont., finishing 23rd overall with a time of 17:50. Her season-best 5,000 time of 17:35 came at the Inland Northwest Championships in Lewiston, Idaho, where she placed fifth overall and helped her team to a first-place finish. She was also first overall for the Eagles at the NCAA West Regional meet in Sacramento, Calif., where she was 72nd overall with a 6,000 time of 20:59.
2012-13: Indoor: Penaloza ran a time of 17:52.41 in the 5,000 at the UW Husky Classic to rank fourth all-time at Eastern. She placed 17th in the 5,000 at the BSC Indoor Championships (19:14.37) and 23rd in the 3,000 (11:02.63). Her season best of 10:40.56 in the 3,000 came at the Idaho Vandal Collegiate. Outdoor: Penaloza ran the sixth-fastest time in school history in the 10,000, clocking 37:29.84 at the Mt. Sac Relays. She just missed scoring for the Eagles in the 10,000 at the BSC Outdoor Championships, running 38:09.14 to place ninth. Penaloza was also 23rd in the 5,000 (18:55.61) at the conference meet.
2012 Cross Country: Penaloza was the top runner for the Eagles in every meet, finishing in the top 20 in three different meets. She was 29th at the Big Sky Championships with a time of 18:39.2. Penaloza placed 19th at the Clash of the Inland Northwest, running a time of 15:33.9 on the 4,000-meter course. She was also 17th at the Inland Empire Classic (18:42), 12th at the Montana Invitational (18:43.4) and 39th at the Sundodger Invitational (23:10.22). Penaloza competed at the NCAA West Regional meet, running a time of 22:16 (6,000) to place 145th overall.
2011-12: Indoor: The true freshman ran 18:08.99 in the 5,000 at the UW Husky Classic to qualify for the BSC Indoor Championship and earn her the fifth spot all-time at Eastern. She ran 19:55.57 in the 5,000 at the BSC Indoor Championships to place 13th. Penaloza ran 10:30.74 in the 3,000 at the UW Husky Classic, putting her ninth all-time at Eastern and finishing 47th overall. She also ran 5:21.76 in the mile at the Idaho Vandal Indoor, finishing ninth. Outdoor: Redshirted.
2011 Cross Country: Redshirted.
High School: As a junior, Penaloza placed tenth in the 4A State Championships in the 3,200 with a time of 11:06.35 seconds. The Yakima, Wash., native improved on her time the following season at the Arcadia Invitational by posting an 11:03.94 time, which is her personal best. In the 2009 cross country season, Penaloza was selected as the Columbia Basin Big Nine Runner of the Year. She placed 12th and 15th, respectively, in the 2010 and 2011 State 4A Cross Country Championships, helping Eisenhower win the title in 2011. Her best times on the track came in the 800 (2:31.25), 1,500 (4:57.10), 1,600 (5:22.26), 3,000 (10:14) and 3,200 (11:03.94).
