2013-14 Track and Field: Indoor:Michael placed third in the 400 at the Big Sky ConferenceChampionships in Pocatello, Idaho, with a time of 48.52. He alsoran the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter relay at the championshipswhich had a time of 3:17.23 to place fourth and rank 10th all-timeat Eastern. His season best in the 400 (48.12) came at theprestigious UW Husky Classic where he placed fourth overall. He hadseason-bests in the 55-meter dash at the Candy Cane VI (6.62) andthe 200 at the Idaho Indoor Meet (22.02). He was selected to theBig Sky winter all-academic team. Outdoor: During the400-meter prelims of the Big Sky Conference Championships, Michaelran 47.17 to place second and to rank third all-time at Eastern. Heran 48.59 during the finals to finish sixth. He also ran the anchorleg of the 4x400-meter relay at the championships which had a timeof 3:15.08 to place sixth. He helped the 4x400-meter relay team toa first place finish and a season best of 3:14.06 at the Long BeachInvitational. He had a season-best in the 200 (22.12) at theStanford Invitational. He was selected to the Big Sky springall-academic team.
2012-13: Indoor: Michael placed secondin the 400 at the Big Sky Indoor Championships, running a time of47.84 in the finals. He took fifth in the 200 at the conferencemeet with a time of 21.84. Michael also ran the anchor leg on the4x400 relay, which ran 3:16.84 to place fifth at conference. Hisindoor season best of 21.76 in the 200 came in the prelims at theBSC Championships. He also had times of 48.51 (BSC prelims) and48.53 (Vandal indoor) in the 400 during the season.Outdoor: Michael placed third in a down-to-the-wire finishof the 400 at the BSC Outdoor Championships in a time of 47.72,just being edged out by the second-place finisher (47.71) andteammate Brad Wall (47.67). He ran the third leg on the 4x400 relaythat placed second at the conference meet, which ran a time of3:11.33 to rank second in school history. Michael ran a time of21.59 in the 200 at the Duane Hartman Invite to qualify for the BSCChampionships and rank ninth all-time at Eastern. He also ran hispersonal best of 10.96 in the 100 at the Duane Hartman. His seasonbest of 47.69 in the 400 came in a first-place finish at the UNLVRandall Cunningham Invite. Michael ran on the 4x100 relay, whichran a time of 41.45 on two different occasions during the season torank ninth all-time. He also was a member of the 4x400 relay teamthat took first at the All-Idaho Cup in a time of 3:12.44, good forfifth in school history. He was named to the spring Big SkyAll-Academic team
2011-12: Indoor: Michael exploded ontothe Big Sky scene as a freshman, breaking the school record in the400 at the BSC Indoor Championships and placing second with a timeof 46.97. He also placed third in the 200, clocking a time of 21.63to rank third all-time at Eastern. He capped off the IndoorChampionships with a Big Sky title and another school record of3:11.04 in the 4x400 relay in which he ran the third leg.Outdoor: Michael ran 47.28 in the 400 at the BSC OutdoorChampionships to place third and rank fourth all-time at Eastern.That time also advanced him to the NCAA Division I West PreliminaryRound, where he ran a time of 48.10, placing 42nd overall. At theBSC Outdoor Championships, Michael ran a leg on both the 4x400mrelay (fifth, 3:17.47) and the 4x100m relay (sixth, 41.81). He alsoran his outdoor season-bests of 11.20 in the 100 and 22.19 in the200 at the Duane Hartman Invite.
High School: Michael was a work-horse for theSkyview Storm, running in four events at the 4A WIAA StateChampionships. He placed second in the 400 (48.46), fifth in the200 (22.04) first in the 4x400 relay (3:16.61) and third in the4x100 relay (42.31). Michael had personal bests in the 100 (11.00),200 (22.04) and 400 (48.45). He reached state in the 400 his juniorand sophomore seasons, placing 11th in the 400 both years. He alsoreached state in the 4x400 during both of those years, placingfifth his junior year and eighth his sophomore year.
Personal: Undecided major. Born 6/18/93 in TwinFalls, Idaho. His parents are Dwain and Amy Michael. He has threerelatives who graduated from Eastern, including Nick Eggleston,Ashley Bloom and Jeff Boyd.
