Biography

2010-11 – As one ofEastern’s best athletes, Armstrong showed a strong season in2010-11. Competing in eight different events for the heptathlon,Armstrong scored a total of 4,900, almost a 400 point improvementfrom the previous season. His performance gave him a fifth placefinish at the Big Sky Conference Championships.

2009-10: Indoor: Armstrong’s mostsuccessful heptathlon competition was at the Candy CaneInvitational, where he scored 4549 points and placed third overall.His best event that day was the 55-meter hurdles, where he clockeda time of 8.26 (770 points). Outdoor: Armstrongqualified for the 2010 Big Sky Conference Championships in thedecathlon and the 400-meter hurdles. He placed 13th overall in the400-meter hurdles, running a time of 55.43. In the decathlon,Armstrong scored 4328 points, scoring the highest amount of pointsin the 400 (716 points), finishing in 52.20.

Community College: Armstrong was second in the110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.08 at the NWAACC Championshipsto earn All-America honors. He was also third in the 400 hurdleswith a time of 54.71. He was third in the decathlon with 6,270points and his 4x400 team finished second with a time of 3:20.48.He was selected as the teams most outstanding and team captain. Hispersonal bests are 110 hurdles (15.03), 400 hurdles (54.65) anddecathlon (6,270).

High School: Armstrong was the 3A Statechampion in the 100 hurdles, third place in the 300 hurdles andfourth in the 4x400. In 2007 he was the GSL sprinter of the year.He was also All-GSL in the 100 hurdles, second team in 300 hurdles.His personal best marks are in the 110 hurdles (14.47), 300 hurdles(38.9) and triple jump (41-6).
