Andrew Heffler joined the Eastern Washington University football staff in February 2025, where he assists with the offensive line. He brings a diverse coaching background spanning multiple collegiate levels, with experience in both offensive and special teams roles.
Before arriving at EWU, Heffler served as the Co-Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at Southwestern Community College in San Diego (July 2024 – January 2025). There, he coordinated the run game, led position group meetings for running backs, tight ends, and offensive linemen, and was responsible for gameday play-calling. His offense averaged 112 rushing yards per game over the final five games of the season.
Prior to that, Heffler worked at the University of San Diego (February 2024 – July 2024), where he assisted with the offensive line, tight ends, and special teams. He played a key role in recruiting efforts and helped organize the USD 7-on-7 tournament and Coaches Clinic.
From 2022 to 2024, Heffler was the Special Teams Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach at Culver-Stockton College (NAIA) in Missouri. Under his leadership, the special teams unit led the Heart of America Conference in net punt average for two seasons, ranked second in kickoff return yards in 2023, and went a perfect 100% on field goal attempts in 2022 conference play. He coached five all-conference athletes and also served as the on-campus recruiting and travel coordinator.
Heffler began his collegiate coaching career at Concordia University Wisconsin (2020–2022), where he was an offensive graduate assistant working with running backs and tight ends. He also served as video coordinator, assistant recruiting coordinator, and head coach/offensive coordinator for the JV team.
A San Diego native, Heffler played high school football at St. Augustine High School before continuing his playing career at Pomona-Pitzer College, where he was a four-year player and three-year starter on the defensive line.
Heffler holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational studies from Pitzer College (2020) and a master’s degree in organizational leadership and administration from Concordia University Wisconsin (2021).
