Larry Weir has been the voice of Eastern Washington University football since 1991, serving as the radio play-by-play broadcaster for 34 consecutive seasons. In that time, he has called an incredible 401 out of 403 EWU football games. Weir also spent 32 of those years broadcasting EWU men’s basketball, totaling over 900 games across both sports.
A two-time Washington Sportscaster of the Year (2014, 2015), awarded by the National Sports Media Association, Weir is widely respected for his consistency, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the game.
In addition to his work with EWU, Weir brought his talents to minor league baseball, spending five summers in the Northwest League. He called games for Spokane during the 1989 and 1990 seasons, and for Yakima in 1994, 1996, and 1997.
