Eastern Washington University Athletics

Seattle, Wash., native Matt Mayberg joined Eastern Washington in 2025 after successful assistant coaching stops at Lewis & Clark, Ottawa University, and Peninsula College. Known for his player development and offensive efficiency, he helped Lewis & Clark produce its highest scoring offense in over 20 years (81.1 PPG) and coached two All-Northwest Conference players, including All-Region guard Brenden Patrick. His teams led the NWC in free throw percentage (75.5%) and ranked second in three-point shooting (36.6%).

At Peninsula College, Mayberg helped the Pirates to three straight top-four regional finishes and the league’s top defensive efficiency mark in 2020–21. He began his collegiate coaching career at Seattle University, contributing to the program’s first 20-win season in over five decades and a postseason appearance in the CIT,

A graduate of Gonzaga University, Mayberg holds a Bachelor’s in Sports Management and a Master’s in Sports Administration and Leadership from Seattle University.
