Eastern Washington University Athletics

Rich returned to Eastern in July of 2022 to assist with athletic fund-raising efforts and serves as the Associate Athletic Director and Regional Director of Philanthropy. He brings over 25 years of experience in higher education, 23 of which are exclusively in athletics at the NCAA Division I level as a coach and administrator.
 
Rich spent 4 years on the University of Washington football staff under Chris Petersen, serving as the Chief Administrative Officer (2015-2018), overseeing all administrative and daily operations as well as equipment and video operations and budget oversight. He also served as a member of the Athletics Directors' senior leadership team and was the liaison with compliance and athletic academic services. During the 2014 season, he served as the Director of Recruiting for the Huskies.
 
He served as the Director of Recruiting at Boise State for two seasons and was tasked with creating the school’s first recruiting department. Prior to Boise State, Rich was the Tight Ends coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Washington State University (under former EWU Head Football Coach Paul Wulff).
 
Rich, a native of Tacoma, spent 12 seasons at EWU serving as the Eagles Tight Ends coach, with the additional duties of Recruiting Coordinator and Director of Football Operations. He earned both a bachelor's degree (physical education, 1998) and master's degree (athletic administration, 2000) from EWU.
 
Rich and his wife, Teri, have a daughter Ashley, and two sons, Josh and Jake (who previously served as the Director of Football Operations at Eastern).
