Pierce was hired in 2024 as Eastern's Running Backs Coach. Originally from Oakland, Calif., played running back for the Eags from 2015-21, appearing in 51 games and starting six while piling up 1,648 yards and 24 touchdowns on 285 career rushes. He earned All-Big Sky First Team honors in the Spring 2021 season after averaging 5.4 yards per carry on 86 attempts and scoring 5 TDs. The two-year captain was a preseason all-conference selection for the 2021 season, but he saw limited action due to an early injury. He was also a three-time Big Sky All-Academic honoree.

Since graduating from Eastern with his bachelor’s degree in Health Psychology and a minor in Communications, Pierce served as an offensive quality control coach for the Eags in 2022 before spending the 2023 season as a graduate assistant at San Jose State under Brent Brennan, who is now the head coach at the University of Arizona. The Spartans went 7-6 last year, including a 6-2 record in the Mountain West, winning their final six regular season games before a loss in the Hawaii Bowl.
