Bodnar Bites
On the Backline: They've been a cohesive unit. They've been solid in conference play when it matters. It took us a little while to figure it out at the beginning of the season, but our backline plus Emily Busselman have been incredible. Again, it's collective defending from our front runners and the midfielders, and they work they put in defensively and with the ball. It's a credit to all of them.
On Chloe Williams Tying the Big Sky Scoring Record: I'm glad it's done, to be honest. I think it's been on her mind too much. It's not that she cares about it, but she wants to break it and she wants to be the best. She cares a lot more about her team winning. She celebrates just as hard when her teammates score as when she does. It's a huge credit to her, but we're glad it's done and we are going to move on and keep pushing and trying to focus on the next game because it's going to be a tough one on Sunday.
On Facing Montana Sunday: Montana is an athletic and well coached group. It's going to be a battle because it's a team that wants to be in the top as well because they're used to being in the top of the Big Sky. We're going to have to play well, and we're capable of beating anybody when we play well. We're excited, it's our next focus and it's one more on the path of where we want to go.
On an Eight-Match Unbeaten Streak: It feels good. We have a lot more work to do because there's a lot of season left. This is the expectation of our program, we want to keep getting better and continue to strive and move forward. I'm proud of them and we're going to reset tomorrow and get back and it because we have a big one on Sunday.
What's Next
The Eagles host their last home game against Montana this Sunday, Oct. 15. Ten seniors will be honored for Senior Day prior to the 1 p.m. game. EWU then will close out the regular season on the road against Idaho State, Weber State and Idaho. The Big Sky Conference Championship is set for Nov. 1-5 at the site of the regular season champion.
