Women's Basketball Faces Tough Road Test at No. 10 Oregon on Tuesday

Eagles take on the Ducks at 6 p.m. in Eugene

CHENEY, Wash. –
The Eastern Washington University women's basketball team faces a tough road test as it travels to Eugene to take on Pac-12 member No. 10 Oregon on Tuesday (Nov. 21). The Eagles (1-2) take on the Ducks (3-1) at 6 p.m. Pacific time inside the Matthew Knight Arena. Fans can watch the game via the Oregon Live Stream.
 
This is the fifth all-time meeting for the two teams, with EWU still seeking its first win over the Ducks. The Eagles are just 8-51 all-time against Pac-12 opponents.
 
Eastern Washington is coming off of a four-point loss to BYU on Friday (Nov. 17). The Eagles led for over 27 minutes behind Violet Kapri Morrow's first career double-double (25 points, 11 rebounds) and Uriah Howard's 17 points. However, the Cougars used a 13-0 run and took 15 free throw attempts in the fourth quarter to seal the victory, 73-69.
 
Oregon is 3-1 after opening its season at the Preseason WNIT. The Ducks topped CSUN, Drake and No. 19 Texas A&M, but fell to No. 5 Louisville on Sunday. They are currently ranked tenth in the Women's Basketball Associated Press rankings.
 
A LOOK AT THE EAGLES: Eastern's lone victory of the season came on Nov. 14 in overtime at Air Force. As a team, they average 63.3 points per game and are shooting .359 from field goal range. The Eagles have outrebounded their opponents in all three contests, averaging 42 boards. EWU's opponents are shooting at a .438 clip, averaging 72.3 points per game.
 
Eastern Washington is led by Preseason Big Sky Conference MVP Delaney Hodgins. Hodgins averaged 21 points per game in addition to 10 rebounds. She also leads the team with 11 blocks and 14 steals on the season. Violet Kapri Morrow also averages double figures per game with 14.3. She is 21-24 from the free throw line this season and averages eight boards a contest.
 
In the Big Sky, the Eagles rank first in blocked shots with 6.7 per game. They also average 12.3 steals per contest which is second. On the season, EWU is shooting .783 from the charity stripe, only missing 13 of their 60 attempts.
 
A LOOK AT THE DUCKS: The No. 10 ranked Oregon Ducks recently fell in the Preseason WNIT final to No. 5 Louisville. Oregon averages 86.3 points per game and limits its opponents to just 65.5.
 
The Ducks are led by Sabrina Ionecu who became just the eighth player in NCAA history to record a triple-double in back-to-back contests. The sophomore already has six career triple-doubles. She averages 17 points and seven rebounds per game and has 32 assists on the season. Oregon also has three other players who average double-figures and are 31-7 all-time under head coach Kelly Graves in regular season non-conference games.
 
SERIES HISTORY: Tuesday marks the fifth all-time meeting between the two programs, with EWU trailing 0-4. The two squads last faced off in the Women's NIT on March 18, 2010 in Eugene where the Ducks knocked EWU out of the tournament by a score of 95-66.
