CHENEY, Wash. – The nonconference slate continues for the Eastern Washington University women's basketball team at Reese Court on Saturday (Nov. 25). The Eagles (1-3) play host to the Utah Valley Wolverines (0-4) for a 2:05 p.m. tip-off. Those that cannot make it to the game can watch on WatchBigSky.com.
 
Eastern Washington has played three of its first four regular season games on the road, and are most recently coming off an 81-40 loss at No. 10 Oregon on Tuesday (Nov. 21) where they forced 23 Duck turnovers.
 
SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES: Utah Valley is also a road-tested team, as they have played all of their games on the road so far, compiling an 0-4 record. Most recently, they fell to BYU on Nov. 21 by a score of 75-54. EWU also battled BYU at home on Nov. 27, falling 73-69 after leading the game for over 27 minutes. UVU also has a loss to ranked opponent in No. 18 Oregon State.
 
As a team, the Wolverines are shooting at a .318 clip from field goal range and average 54 points a game, while their opponents score 79.8 points. They have two players that average double-figures a game in Taylor Christensen (12.3) and Gabrielle Leos (10.8). The pair also leads the team in rebounds with 4.0 and 4.3 per game, respectively.
 
MEET THE EAGLES: Like Utah Valley, the Eagles also have two players that average double-digit scoring per contest in 
Delaney Hodgins (17.8) and 
Violet Kapri Morrow (12.8). The duo also lead the team with eight and 6.5 rebounds per game, respectively.
 
As a team, the Eagles are shooting .346 from field goal range and an impressive .746 from the charity stripe to rank second in the Big Sky. EWU blocks an average of 5.8 shots per game, led by Hodgins who has 11 on the season. Hodgins also leads the team with 14 steals as the team averages 12.3 per contest. Eastern Washington has outrebounded its opponents in three contests this season, as they average 37.0 a game to their opponents' 36.5.
 
SERIES HISTORY: Utah Valley is looking for its first win over the Eagles, as EWU leads the all-time series 5-0. The two squads faced off last season on Nov. 22, 2016 where they picked up a decisive 83-50 victory. Hodgins led the team with a career-high 29 points. EWU is 3-0 all-time against the Wolverines at Reese Court.
 
SOARING TO THE TOP: Senior 
Delaney Hodgins is currently chasing the Eastern Washington all-time career scoring record. Through 102 games, in which she has started every one, the Preseason Big Sky MVP has amassed 1,499 career points for a 14.8 points per game average. She ranks third now, and sits 234 points away from sole possession of second place and is 367 points away from breaking the record. The record is currently held by her older sister Hayley Hodgins (2013-16) who scored 1,865 career points in 126 games.
