68 Selected to Fall All-Academic Team

To qualify, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 GPA and participate in at least half of the team's competitions

A total of 68 Eastern Washington University student-athletes have been honored on the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for fall quarter 2017. The total includes 30 football players, 16 members of the women's soccer squad, nine volleyball players, seven from the men's cross country team and six women's cross country competitors.

To qualify for the team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.20 cumulative grade point average or better at EWU and meet the requirement of playing in at least half of the team's competitions (or for cross country and track and field, at least compete in the Big Sky Conference Championship meet).

The total included five student-athletes who have earned Big Sky All-Academic honors all four years in their respective sports. They included football players Nic Sblendorio and Andre Lino; volleyball player Chloe Weber; and soccer players M'Kenna Hayes and Chloe Williams.

A school record total of 180 EWU student-athletes were honored on the 2016-17 Big Sky All-Academic teams. A total of 51 were honored for spring quarter 2017, including 18 from the women's outdoor track and field team, 13 from the men's squad, eight from women's tennis and six each from women's golf and men's tennis. In the winter quarter of 2017, a total of 51 were honored including 23 from the women's indoor track and field team, 13 men's indoor track and field competitors, eight women's basketball players and seven from the men's basketball squad. In the fall, 78 Eastern student-athletes were honored -- 34 football players, 19 members of the women's soccer squad, 11 volleyball players, eight from the women's cross country team and six men's cross country competitors.

A total of 169 EWU student-athletes were honored on the 2015-16 Big Sky All-Academic teams, and 172 – the previous record -- were in 2014-15. A total of 152 were honored on the 2013-14 Big Sky All-Academic teams, 154 in 2012-13, 130 in 2011-12 school year, 136 in 2010-11, 150 in 2009-10, 136 in the 2008-09 school year and 122 in 2007-08.
