The Eastern Washington University cross country teams travel to Sacramento, Calif., for the Big Sky Championships this Saturday, Oct. 28.

"We've had a very successful season so far," said head coach
Sam Read. "We have a huge group that are running faster times than they ever have before. We are feeling fit, healthy, and ready to finish our final meets strong."Â

The event will be hosted by Sacramento State on the Haggin Oaks golf course. The women's race will be 5,000 meters, while the men race on an 8,000-meter course.

The men's 8k race will begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time followed by the women's 5k race at 11 a.m. The awards ceremony will take place at 12 p.m.

Isaac Barville has been the top finisher for the Eagles in every meet.Â

For the women, this year
Lily Tyrrell has been the top finisher in every meet for the Eagles. Last meet she placed 101st at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational.Â

"Conference will be a big test for both our teams. The men's squad will only have a single upperclassman running, while the women's squad will be composed entirely of freshmen and sophomores; many of them running in their first conference meet."

Last year the men finish ninth while the women finished eighth at the Big Sky Championships. Both the men and women of Northern Arizona swept the Championships the last two years.Â
