Eastern Washington University is saddened to learn of the death of George Becker, a freshman offensive lineman on the football team, over the winter break. The whole Eagle family extends its deepest sympathies and support to the Becker family.

"We are extremely saddened by the loss of a great person, family member, teammate and friend. George touched many along his journey and he was loved by them all. Rest in Peace George, we love you."

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 400 Spruce Street in Gridley, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the George Becker Memorial Fund. Checks can be made payable to the George Becker Memorial Fund at Bank of the West in Gridley (34 E Gridley Rd.; Gridley, CA 95948).
