Eagles Continue Undefeated Streak Following 7-0 Victory over Southern Utah

Women’s tennis reaches 4-0 in the Big Sky Conference as they look to host Weber State tomorrow (Mar. 7) at 10 a.m. PT

Box Score

CHENEY, Wash. – After a rematch of last year's Big Sky Conference tournament quarterfinals, the Eastern Washington University women's tennis team finds itself on-top over Southern Utah today (Mar. 6) following a 7-0 performance. For just the second time in program history, the Eagles mark an unbeaten 4-0 Big Sky Conference record for the first time since 2010 as they now sit a 6-3 overall.

"Another gritty effort today by the team to get the victory. The thing I appreciate most about this team is everyone's ability to focus and step up in the moments that mean the most - in those pressure moments," said head coach Dustin Hinson. "I've been saying it in every match lately but when things get tough, we get tougher. The inner belief is there with every player and we know that we will not fail to give our best in those tough moments. That's something that we can be proud of and that's something we will take with us as we face a really tough Weber State team tomorrow."

Following the match, Southern Utah falls to 0-2 in the conference with a 2-9 overall record, as the Eagles now have an overall series record of 5-4 versus the Thunderbirds.
