Eastern Washington Cross Country Continues Postseason at NCAA West Regional

A select few from the Eastern Washington University men’s and women’s cross country teams travel to Sacramento, Calif., on Nov. 12 for the NCAA West Regional.

The Eastern Washington University men's and women's cross country teams have competed in many competitions this year and they are now ready for regionals.

The NCAA West Regional will be hosted by Sacramento State at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course. The races will begin at 10 a.m. Pacific time with the women's 6K championship race, followed by the men's 10K championship race at 11 a.m.

At the last NCAA West Regionals in 2019, the Eastern men's team finished 25th and the women's team finished 34th. Carter Ledwith obtained a 63rd place finish overall in the 10k race and will be competing again in this year's NCAA West Regionals on Friday.

At the Big Sky Conference Championships on Oct. 29, the men's team placed eighth and the women's team placed 11th. Justin Roosma led the men's teams and finished 16th overall.

To qualify for the NCAA Championships in Tallahassee, Fla., on Nov. 20. the top two teams in each nine regions will get automatic bids, with 13 at-large bids, and then the top 38 individuals per gender will be selected to compete.
