Eastern Washington (6-11, 5-7 Big Sky) looks to get back to its winning ways after falling to Idaho twice last week. The Eagles hosted the Vandals in game one and could not overcome a large first quarter deficit. EWU outscored Idaho and shot over 50 percent from the field in the final three quarters, but lost 79-69. Eastern Washington traveled to Idaho for game two and came within five points towards the end of the third quarter, but the Vandals used a 15-0 run and outscored the Eagles 27-16 in the fourth quarter for the 85-56 victory. Both Grace Kirscher and Maisie Burnham scored in double figures in both contests, with Kirscher adding a season-high 24 on Feb. 4 in Cheney.

Four Eagles average double figures in Maisie Burnham (14.4 ppg), Aaliyah Alexander (11.9 ppg), Kennedy Dickie (11.6) and Grace Kirscher (11.1). Burnham ranks eighth overall in the Big Sky Conference in scoring, and is second in conference-only games with 16.1 per contest as a freshman. She also shoots 44.2 percent from the field while on a 12-game double-digit scoring streak and leading the team with 5.8 rebounds per game.

Dickie also adds 5.9 rebounds per game, while Alexander leads the team in assists (3.2) and steals (1.6) per game. Jenna Dick averages 9.1 points per game and ranks inside the top-100 nationally with 33 made three-pointers.

As a team, the Eagles are 20th in the nation in free throw percentage, making 77.0 percent of their attempts. They have made 208 which is 77th. They also rank highly in three-pointers made (118), attempted (351), per game (6.9) and percentage (33.6%).
Eastern Washington averages 65.4 points and 33.6 rebounds per game.

Montana State comes to Cheney ranking third in the Big Sky Conference standings with an 11-5 overall record and an 8-2 mark in conference action. The Bobcats rank second in the league with 72.6 points per game and they also like to shoot from three-point range, leading the conference with 8.5 per game.

Darian White leads the team with 14.8 points per game, while leading the conference in steals per game (2.6) and is fourth in assists (4.0). Tori Martell is the other Bobcat averaging double figures with 12.3 per contest. She leads the conference in three-pointers made (45) and per game (2.8).

Last season, Eastern Washington hosted Montana State on Jan. 18, 2020 where they fell by a score of 89-85 in double overtime. In the win, the Eagles set a new program record with 17 made three-pointers, led by Dickie and Dick who each had five.

The Eagles then fell 79-47 weeks later in Bozeman for their third-straight loss to the Bobcats. Eastern Washington is 35-44 all-time against MSU and have only won two out of the last 10 games.

EWU is looking for its first win over the Bobcats since Jan. 19, 2019 when they won 89-87 in overtime in Bozeman. They have not won at Reese Court since Jan. 21, 2016 in an 81-69 decision.

After this week's slate, just four regular season games remain for Eastern Washington. Next week, they'll head to Montana on Feb. 18 before hosting the Griz at Reese Court on Feb. 20 for the final home regular season game. The Eagles conclude the regular season on March 3 and March 5 against Idaho State in Pocatello.
