CHENEY, Wash. – Eastern Washington University women's soccer head coach
Missy Strasburg has announced her coaching staff today (Aug. 16), to include assistant coach
Tyler Brown.

Tyler Brown enters his first season at EWU after completing his Master of Sport and Athletic Administration (MAASA) at Gonzaga University in 2020. While studying at GU, Brown was welcomed on to the women's soccer coaching staff with duties such as opponent scouting and assisting with the goalkeepers. Within the two years with the Bulldogs, Brown and his staff were named West Region Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches College Services program for the 2020-21 season.
Prior to GU, Brown earned his Bachelor of Science in Communications at Utah Valley University in 2016. He played his junior and senior season at Utah Valley (14', 15') and was crowned UVU Athletics' Male Walk-On of the Year his junior season and UVU Athletics' Most Inspirational Male Athlete of the Year at Wolverine Club Athletic Awards his senior season.
Before Utah Valley, Brown played collegiate soccer his freshman season at the University of Massachusetts in 2009.
Brown is no stranger to the game as he has a high-level of experience, both domestic and internationally. The Tacoma, Wash., native has played club soccer in Germany, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Additionally, he played in the 6th tier of German Soccer Landesliga as a semi-professional.
Brown has spent time coaching for Eastern Washington Surf, Super League and the Girls Academy. Prior to these three coaching positions, Brown held the head coach position for Utah FC (2015-17) and was the Director of Coaching for Inferno FC in Post Falls, Idaho in 2017.
Brown currently holds a USSF C License and is on course to complete USSF B License course by the end of the year. He is married to Lexi Brown who is entering her fifth season with the Gonzaga Bulldogs as an assistant women's soccer coach and recruiting coordinator.
