The women brought home a second-place finish while the men finished third. Each squad competed against one fellow Big Sky Conference school in Portland State and topped the Vikings in the team standings.
Â
"Great races for the women and the men today. Coach
Sam Read laid out a solid race plan and the runners did the rest," said head men's track and field coach
Stan Kerr. "The women were patient through the first half of the race and closed hard over the last 3k to earn a solid second-place finish.
Loren Linnenburger had a special day in posting herself as our top women's finisher."
Â
For the third-straight meet, the men were led by redshirt sophomore
Justin Roosma who clocked a second-place finish with a time of 24:50.9. He finished just shy of the first-place time of 24:49.8.
Noah Hasselblad also earned a top-ten finish, placing ninth with a time of 25:32.9.
Â
"The men took note of the women's efforts and pieced together their best race of the season. The men's pack went out somewhat conservatively, but broke things open just past the 3k mark," added Kerr. "
Justin Roosma gave the appreciate crowd a terrific closing sprint but was just nipped at the finish line."
Â

Nonetheless, both teams made great adjustments and were rewarded with numerous personal bests," concluded Kerr.
Â
