Eastern Washington University director of track and field/head track and field coach,
Erin Tucker, and cross country head coach/distance coach,
Sam Read, have announced the addition of 24 athletes to the 2022-23 cross country and track teams. The newcomers include 14 for the women and 10 on the men's side. All of the women newcomers are true freshmen, while the men are made up of three transfers and seven true freshmen.

High School: Graduated from Thunder Basin High School in 2022. Coached in high school by Terri
Hinkle. Advanced to the All-State Championship for the 4x800-meters in 2022, the Conference Championship in 2019 and 2022, and the 4x800 and the 4x400 in 2022. Set a personal best in the 400-meters indoor with a time of 1:03.24 in 2022. Ran a personal best in the 800-meters outdoor in 2019 with a time of 2:22.08. Had a personal best in the 1600-meters outdoors with a time of 5:20.78 in 2022. Ran a personal best in the 5,000-meters with a time of 20:12.4 in 2021. Competed in the
Simplot Games in 2019 and 2020.

Grace Bruno / Fr. / Jumps / Spokane Valley, Wash. / Valley Christian '22 / Education
High School: Graduated from Valley Christian High School in 2021. Coached by Greg Meyer. Advanced to state her sophomore year and placed eighth in the 100-meter hurdles. She also had a personal best in the 300-meters outdoor with a time of 49.37. In 2021 she had two outdoor personal bests in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.74 and in the high jump with a leap of 5-2.

Rhiannon Davies / Fr. / Distance / Graham, Wash. / Bethel HS '22
High School: Graduated from Bethel High School in 2022. Also competed on the basketball team from 2019 to 2022. Was named a team captain in 2021 and a track and field captain in 2022. Was named an SPSL Scholar Athlete in 2021 and was Bethel's Distance Runner of the Year in 2019. Additionally, she was Bethel's Outstanding Student in 2022 and earned a Bethel HS Sportsmanship Award. She competed in the WIAA Cross Country State Championships in 2022 and the WIAA Girl's Basketball State Championships in 2019-20.
Coached by Kimberly McCann. Ran a personal best in the 200-meters outdoor in 2022 with a time of 29.66. Had a personal best in the 400-meters outdoor in 2021 with a time of 1:02.18. Set a personal best in the 800-meters outdoor in 2022 (2:21.51). Had a personal best in the 1,600-meters outdoor in 2021 (5:25.17). Ran a personal best in the mile outdoor in 2019 (5:36.86). For cross country she set a personal record in the two-mile in 2021 with a time of 12:29.4. Had a personal best in the 5,000 meters in 2020 (19:17.0).

Kassandra Garza / Fr. / Jumps / Zillah, Wash. / Zillah HS '22 / Education
High School: Graduated from Zillah High School in 2022. Coached by Brock Anderson. Also competed on the volleyball, basketball, and cheer teams. Was a state runner-up in the high jump and owns the Zillah high jump school record of 5-3. She was a USATF National qualifier and also guided the Leopards to a third-place finish at state in the 4x100-meter relay. He personal best in the long jump is 16-3 ¼.

Emma Glanzer / Fr. / Jumps / Spokane, Wash. / Shadle Park HS '22 / Chemistry
High School: Graduated from Shadle Park High School in 2022 where she was a four-year letterwinner on the track and field team. Coached by Nathan Clayton. At Shadle, she also earned first team All-GSL honors and guided the Highlanders to a 2A District Championship and was a track and field performer of the year. She has personal bests in the 100-meters of 13.39, the long jump of 16-9, and the triple jump of 34-8 ¼.

Lucy Kelly / Fr. / Throws / Walla Walla, Wash. / Walla Walla HS '22 / Physical Therapy
High School: Graduated from Walla Walla High School in 2022 where she earned four letters in soccer, plus two in softball and in track and field. She was named a team captain for both Walla Walla's soccer and track and field teams. She guided the Blue Devils to a third-place finish at the state championships. She owns a personal best in the javelin of 141-10, 26-6 in the shot put, and 88-0 in the discus and will focus on the javelin at EWU. Â
Personal: Born on 2/3/2004. Parents are Shelby and Jason Kelly. Intends on majoring in physical therapy with aspirations of owning her own physical therapy office.
Jordan Koetje / Fr. / Sprints/Hurdles / Randle, Wash. / White Pass HS '22 / Architecture
High School: Graduated from White Pass High School in 2022 where she earned three letters in cross country, four in track, and one in basketball. Was a three-time state champion in the 100-meters, 200-meters, and 300-meter hurdles as a senior, owning personal best times of 12.60, 26.16, and 46.20, respectively. She was the State 2B MVP and the league MVP in 2022. She helped guide White Pass to a state championship in 2019 and 2022.

Faith Martinez / Fr. / Distance / Maple Valley, Wash. / Tahoma HS '22 / Pre-Nursing
High School: Graduated from Tahoma Senior High School in 2022. In 2018, she was named All-State for cross country and followed up with an All-District and All-State selection in 2019 before earning another All-State honor in 2020. She led the Bears to a 2020 State Championship title, and the team also finished third in 2019 and 2021. On the track, she qualified for the state championships in the 1,600 and the 3,200, earning two podium finishes with a 5:00.88 personal best in the 1,600.

Chloe Pattison / Fr. / Hurdles / Lake Stevens, Wash. / Lake Stevens HS '22
High School: Graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 2022, and will also play soccer at EWU. Placed second in the 100-meter hurdles at the WIAA State Championships with a time of 14.74, just shy of her personal best of 14.73. She also finished second at the championships in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.12. Her 300-meter hurdle personal best is 43.64.
Nattie Ruzauskas / Fr. / Distance / Richland, Wash. / Richland HS '22 / Elementary Education
High School: Graduated from Richland High School in 2022 where she was coached by Gabriel DeShazo and earned one letter in soccer, three in cross country, and four in track and field. In 2019, she earned a second-place finish at the WIAA State Championships and was named the Mid-Columbia Conference Runner of the Year along with an All-State selection. She earned multiple first team all-conference selections between cross country and track, and was a three-time Runner of the Year at Richland. In 2022, she also placed third at the state championships in the 4x00-meters.

Kaiya Sollie / Fr. / Distance / Spokane, Wash. / Shadle Park HS '22 / Physical Therapy
High School: Graduated from Shadle Park high school in 2022 where she earned four letters in cross country and track and field. Coached by Rob Warnock.
Her 5k personal best in cross country is 20:14.5. On the track, she owns personal bests of 12:02.33 in the 3,200-meters, 5:26.13 in the 1,600-meters, and 2:24.52 in the 800-meters.

Alexa Thomson / Fr. / Jumps / Mission Viejo, Calif. / Capistrano Valley HS '22 / Education
High School: Graduated from Capistrano Valley High School in 2022 where she also played volleyball. In 2019, she was named Capistrano Valley's track and field MVP and the volleyball team's most improved player. She was also named the track and field MVP in the 2021 and 2022 seasons as well along with the inspiration and leadership award. She was an Orange County first team selection and the was named a scholar athlete from 2019-22.
She owns school records in both the long jump (19-8 ¼) and triple jump (37-5).

Sydney Thweatt / Fr. / Sprints/Hurdles / Davis, Calif. / Justin-Siena HS '22 / Psychology
High School: Graduated from Justin-Siena High School in 2022 where she also played basketball and was coached by Tracy Martin. She guided the Braves to a second-place finish at the North Coast Section. She owns personal bests in the 100-meters (12.88, 2021), 200-meters (25.68, 2022), 400-meters (58.51, 2019), 300-meter hurdles (46.13, 2022) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.31, 2022).
Personal: Interested in majoring in psychology with the hopes of having her own practice. Born on 9/29/2004. Parent is Michele Richey-Thweatt.
Bailey Young / Fr. / Throws / Hermiston, Wash. / Hermiston HS '22 / Biology
High School: Graduated from Hermiston High School in 2022 where she also swam and played basketball. Coached by Emilee Strot. In 2022, she was a Mid-Columbia Conference first team selection in the shot put and a state campion in the discus and shot put. She is a Nike Outdoor National All-American in the shot put and a USATF Junior Olympics All-American in the hammer throw and shot put, and won the Oregon Relays for the shot put as well.
Young owns the Hermiston HS school record in the shot put (47-1) and hammer (143-3) and has a personal best of 134-5 in the discus.
Personal: Interested in majoring in biology with the hopes of becoming a veterinarian. Born on 11/9/2003. Parents are Angela Young and Joseph Young.

Anthony Carlascio / Jr. / Distance / Yakima, Wash. / West Valley HS '20 / Education
Spokane Falls Community College: Was an All-American in the 1500, steeplechase, and 5k during the 2022 season. Helped SFCC finish second overall at the NWAC Championship. Named to the President's list for academics both years. Owns personal bests in the 800-meters (1:59.00), 1,500-meters (3:55.26), 3,000-meters indoors (8:50.56), 5,000-meters (15:33.15) and the 3k steeplechase (9:48.48).
High School: Graduated from West Valley High School in 2020. Coached by Coach Nordstrom. Had a personal best in the 800-meters outdoor in 2019 with a time of 2:06.56. Ran a personal best in 2019 in the 1,600-meters outdoor with a time of 4:34.00. He also ran a personal best in the 3,200-meters in 2019 outdoor with a time of 9:57.52.
Personal: Interested in majoring elementary education with the hopes of getting a Masters in elementary education to become a teacher. Born on 1/5/2002. Parents are Kevin Carlascio and Stacy Carlascio.
Lucas Couron / Fr. / Pole Vault / Westminster, Colo. / Riverdale Ridge HS '22 / Marketing
High School: Graduated from Riverdale Ridge High School in 2022 where he was coached by Seth Mattern. He also competed on the wrestling team and earned two letters, and also lettered three times as a member of the football team while earning three in track and field. His pole vault personal best is 15-9, which is the highest pole vault mark in Colorado in 2022. He was a 4A pole vault state champion, and qualified for indoor and outdoor high school nationals. He also earned all-conference honors.

Konner Dobosh / Fr. / Javelin / Cheney, Wash. / Cheney HS '22 / Education
High School: Graduated from Cheney High School in 2022 where he was coached by Shannon Root and also played football and baseball. Finished sixth at the 2022 WIAA State Championships. Threw 178-5 to place first at the 3A/4A District Championships, which qualified him for the USATF National Championship where he finished fifth overall.
Personal: Born on 5/28/2004. Plans on majoring in education and becoming an English teacher.
Bradley Fillis / Jr. / Throws / Spokane, Wash. / Central Valley HS '22 / Spokane Falls CC / Exercise Science
Spokane Falls: Was a three-time NWAC Conference Champion in the hammer, shot put, and discus. He owns the Spokane Community College weight throw record, and is in the top-four for shot put and discus, and top-six for hammer.
Personal: Born on 10/10/2001. Intends on majoring in exercise science with aspirations of being an athletic trainer or teacher. Â
Hayden Fisher / Fr. / Distance / Sumner, Wash. / Sumner HS '22
High School: Graduated from Sumner Senior High School in 2022 where he was coached by Maurice Dudley and Ryan Jobe. He was a four-year varsity member of both the track and field and cross country teams. In 2019, he earned second team all-league honors before making the first team in 2021. He qualified for the 800-meter finals at the WIAA State Championships and placed seventh with a time of 1:59.23. His 800-meter personal best is 1:55.79. He also owns personal bests in the 3200-meters (10:07.27) and 1600-meters (4:22.97). Â

Corbin Luce / Fr. / Pole Vault / Helena Mont. / Helena HS ' 22 / Business Management
High School: Graduated from Helena High School in 2022 where he was coached by Bill Hereford. He earned three letters in track and field and two in football. His best mark in the pole vault is 14-6. He was named All-State and All-Conference, and was honored for academics as well. He also qualified for Junior Olympic Nationals.

Christian Meter / Fr. / Pole Vault / Meridian, Idaho / Meridian HS '22 / Kinesiology
High School: Graduated from Meridian High School in 2022 where he was coached by Dave Peterson and Stacy Dragila and also played football. He placed eighth at the 2022 IHSA Track & Field Championships and fourth in 2021 with his personal best of 14-0. He has also cleared 6-2 in the high jump.

Mason Moore / Fr. / Throws / Wenatchee, Wash. / Wenatchee HS '22 / Finance
High School: Graduated from Wenatchee High School in 2022 where he was coached by Krissy Richerson. He also played on the football team and competed in wrestling. In 2021, he was named All-CBBN in the discus. In 2022, he was named All-CBBN in both the discus and the shotput, and became the eventual 2022 4A State Champion in the discus. He owns personal records of 164-4 in the discus and 51-6 in the shot put.

Asher Ogden / Fr. / Sprints/Hurdles / Orting, Wash. / Emerald Ridge HS '22 / Mechanical Engineering
High School: Graduated from Emerald Ridge High School in 2022 where he was coached by Robert Frey. He lettered all four years in track and field, plus two in football. In 2022, he won the 4A state title in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.77. His personal best in that event is 14.53, which he ran at the Oregon Relays where he placed second. The time ranks second all-time in Emerald Ridge HS history. In 2019, he placed second in the 110-hurdles at the state championships as well.
Ogden also earned a US Marine Corp Excellence Award, was named one of the PSD top-20 seniors, and was an SPSL Honorable Mention as a defensive lineman in 2019. He competed at the Junior Olympics in 2019 and 2021, and competed at the 2021 Nike Outdoor Nationals.
Personal: Interested in majoring in mechanical engineering. Born on 6/16/2004. Parents are Russel Ogden and Rebecca Ogden.
Cody Teevens / Jr. / Multi-Events / Pullman, Wash. / Pullman HS '19 / Washington State / Communications
At Washington State: Teevens competed for the Cougars for three years in the multi-events. He owns personal bests of 7.23 in the 60-meters, 11.13 in the 100-meters, 51.66 in the 400-meters, 2:47.86 in the 1,000-meters, 4:56.78 in the 1,500-meters, 8.47 in the 60-meter hurdles, 15.38 in the 110-meter hurdles, 6.75 meters in the long jump, 1.90 meters in the high jump, 3.70 meters in the pole vault, 11.25 meters in the shot put, 44.49 meters in the javelin and 28.73 meters in the discus throw. His highest point total in the decathlon is 6,232 and he has a personal-best mark of 4,699 in the heptathlon. He competed in the Pac-12 Championships in 2021 and finished 11
th overall with a score of 6,232 in the decathlon. He also won the Bigfoot Multi-Event meet in 2021 with a score of 5,933.
High School: Graduated from Pullman High School in 2019 where he lettered in track during his junior and senior years. As a junior, he qualified for the state championships in the 300-meter hurdles and the 4x400-meter hurdles. As a senior, he qualified in the 300 and 110-meter hurdles, as well as the 4x400-meter relays.
