Eastern takes on Pioneers and Rebels this week

Eastern Washington plays a home match this Thursday and a road match on Sunday

Eastern Washington looks to defeat the University of Denver Pioneers and the University of Las Vegas, Nevada. Eastern's next match up will be hosting the Pioneers Thursday, September 1st, at 4 p.m. Pacific Time. Then they will travel down to Nevada to play against UNLV on Sunday, September 4th at 10:30 a.m.

Insight of Eastern:
Eastern Washington's record sits at 0-2-2 after the first weeks of the season. The Eagles fought with Nevada for a 1-1 draw this past Thursday. On Sunday, Eastern took a 1-3 result against Washington State. 

Within the first four regular season matches for Eastern, there have been many players contributing to the team's success. Mya Elder-Hammond has seen the field for 352 out of the 360 total minutes this year. True freshman Marina Downing played in a total of 113 minutes and scoring herself a goal. Kalista Kakou had the first goal of the season with 138 minutes of play. Madison Kem played in 289 minutes and scored her first goal against Pullman off a fantastic penalty kick in the lower left portion of the goal. Downing, Kakou, and Kem each have one goal and two points this season. At goalie, Kamryn Willoughby has collected herself 10 total saves. Willoughby has 252 minutes played. Maddie Morgan leads the team in assists with two, collecting points for herself and five total shots.

Insight of Denver:
Denver started off their regular season with a record of 2-1-1. Graduate Student Camryn MacMillan is leading the Pioneers with two goals and four points in 268 total minutes of play. She has also picked up seven total shots in her four regular season starts. In their two wins the Pioneers have this season, Jadyn Goodrich and McKenna Dannenhauer each have the game winning goals. Goodrich, along with Kaitlyn Glover, each have one goal and three points this season. The Pioneers goalie, Nerea Arrazola, has started all four regular season games, getting herself a total of 360 minutes of play. Within her starts, she has seven saves with four goals allowed.

The Eagles' only match against Denver came in September of 2018, losing 0-1 in double overtime. 

Insight of UNLV:
Beginning their regular season, the Rebels have struggled to find their groove starting off 0-4-0. Senior Taylie Liddell and true freshmen Cadence Whitley each have one goal and two points on the season. Liddell with one goal off one shot and 181 minutes played. Whitley has five shots with one goal and played in 137 minutes for the Rebels. The freshman also leads the team with three shots on goal. Junior Heather Mitchell and senior Marley Salveter are tied for the team lead with one assist.

Eastern Washington's only match against the Rebels came back in August of 2016, losing 1-3.

Eastern Washington will have two home matches next week, starting against the University of North Dakota on Friday September 9th, at 3 p.m. Pacific Time. Next, they will host the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on Sunday September 11th, at 1 p.m.
