LEXINGTON, Ky. — Eastern Washington volleyball earned another academic recognition, as they received the Team Academic Award, announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and the United States Marine Corps. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball programs that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale.
Eastern now has earned the Team Academic Award in 11-straight seasons and 20th overall for the program's history.
Eastern's student-athletes combined for a cumulative GPA of 3.53 for the 2022-23 academic year to earn the award. Earlier this year, nine Eagles on the team earned Big Sky Fall All-Academic team honors.
The conference had eight of its 10 members earn the AVCA award this past season.
