CHENEY, Wash. — For the second consecutive week, senior libero
Makenna Collins has been honored as the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week. This marks her second player of the week honors in her career. Her impressive performances were key to the Eagles' recent success.
Over the weekend, Collins recorded a total of 29 digs, averaging an impressive 4.14 digs per set, along with 12 assists. In the match against Idaho State, she contributed 11 digs and five assists, while against Weber, she excelled with 18 digs and seven assists.
"Very excited Makenna has been recognized again for her performance on the court," said head coach
Jon Haruguchi. "I'm sure she'd be the first to tell you it's always a team effort and this honor reflects the efforts of the whole team. She's been such a big part of what we are doing and I'm so happy for her."
The Eagles are looking to continue their momentum as they host Northern Colorado on Friday, October 25, at 11 a.m., followed by a match against Northern Arizona on Saturday, October 26, at noon.
