Grossman earns first career Player of the Week

The true freshman posted her second-career double-double in the Eagles' home win

FARMINGTON, Utah — It took only 12 games for Kourtney Grossman to earn her career first Player of the Week award as an Eagle. The true freshman earned the conference's Player of the Week award, announced today, after posting her second career double-double against UC Santa Barbara on Friday.

Grossman had a monster game against UCSB with 15 points and 17 rebounds, both were new career-bests. The Billings, Mont. native was 3-of-4(75.0%) from three-point range and 6-of-16(37.5%) overall from the floor. Grossman had three offensive rebounds as part of her 17-rebound total. 

Eastern
defeated the Gauchos 54-46 in its final game before Big Sky play to improve to 4-8 on the season. 

Grossman leads EWU with 7.2 rebounds per game, also tying for seventh in the conference. She is fourth on the team with 7.6 points per game, while shooting 47.6 percent from three-point range and 38.7 overall.


Over the last six games, Grossman has elevated her role for EWU, averaging 10.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, in 27.5 minutes of game time. Through her first five games, Grossman averaged 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in 13.2 minutes per game.
