CHENEY, Wash. — Eastern Washington's first ever NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament team will be recognized at halftime at Reese Court on Saturday, March 2 as the Eagles take on Montana State for their home season finale. Most of the 2003-04 Eagles squad that earned the program's first tournament bid will be on hand to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their achievement.
After a 3-9 start, the 2003-04 team won the Big Sky regular season title and hosted the conference tournament at Reese Court. Coached by Ray Giacoletti, they rolled past Weber State and Northern Arizona for the Big Sky Championship before falling to Oklahoma State 75-56 in the Big Dance. Alvin Snow led the star-laden team as EWU's first All-American (Honorable Mention) at the D-I level and first Big Sky MVP.
